Design of Multi Standard Near Field Communication Outphasing Transmitter with Modulation Wave Shaping

The aim of this work is to tackle the problem modulation wave shaping in field near communication (NFC) radio frequency identification (RFID). For purpose, a high-efficiency transmitter circuit was developed comply with strict requirements newest EMVCo and NFC Forum specifications for pulse shapes. proposed uses an outphasing modulator that based on digital-to-time converter (DTC). DTC supports amplitude shift keying (ASK) modulation, operates at four times 13.56 MHz carrier made fully differential order remove parasitic phase components. accompanying logic includes lookup tables programmable solution 64-cell tapped current controlled delay locked loop (DLL), which produces 360° 54.24 MHz, glitch-free multiplexor select individual taps. outphased output from mixed create RF width modulated (PWM) output, drives antenna. Additionally, implementation compatible D-class amplifiers enabling high efficiency. A test multi-standard reader’s simulated 40 nm CMOS technology. Stricter shape were easily satisfied, while achieving linearity 0.2 bits maximum power consumption under 7.5 mW.
